Xavi Hernandez’s Vision for Barcelona’s Young Talents

1 min read

Barcelona’s return from their pre-season camp in the United States marked the beginning of exciting changes. Manager Xavi Hernandez granted the team a well-deserved break until Sunday, allowing the players to recharge before the season starts.

According to Mundo Deportivo, four talented academy youngsters out of the seven who traveled to the USA will continue to be part of Xavi’s first-team plans. These promising talents include Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, Ander Astralaga, and Alex Valle.

Interestingly, three of the young prospects – Aleix Garrido, Marc Casado, and Mikayil Faye – have rejoined Barça Atletic under Rafa Marquez’s guidance.

Fermin Lopez’s outstanding performances during pre-season, especially his impressive goal against Real Madrid, have earned him a spot in the first-team plans. It was no secret that 16-year-old Lamine Yamal was destined to be part of Xavi’s plans, and with Ousmane Dembele’s imminent departure, he is set to take on an increased role.

Ander Astralaga is on the verge of becoming the third-choice goalkeeper for the senior team after Arnau Tenas’s departure for PSG.

As for Alex Valle, it was previously reported that he might bid farewell to Barça Atletic, with possibilities of either joining the first-team dynamics or leaving on loan. However, the presence of Alejandro Balde and Marcos Alonso ahead of him makes a loan move more likely.
