PSG Offers Neymar to Barcelona in Dembele Transfer Talks

During the negotiations for Ousmane Dembele’s transfer to PSG, the Parisian club offered Barcelona the opportunity to sign Neymar on loan. This deal was proposed as Neymar had expressed his desire to leave PSG and return to Barcelona. However, Barcelona decided to reject the offer for various reasons.

Firstly, the Catalan club was concerned about Neymar’s high wages, which would have posed financial challenges for them. Secondly, Barcelona’s manager at the time, Xavi Hernandez, did not see Neymar as a suitable addition to the squad, further solidifying their decision to decline the loan deal.

Neymar had previously spent four successful years at Barcelona between 2013 and 2017, forming a formidable attacking trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. However, in 2017, he made a record-breaking move to PSG for a transfer fee of €222 million.

Despite Neymar’s unsettled situation in Paris, Barcelona opted not to bring him back to the club, and the possibility of his return this summer was ruled out. Instead, the focus remained on completing the transfer of Ousmane Dembele to PSG for a reported fee of €50 million.
