Jules Kounde points out who is responsible for Barcelona’s poor form.

2 min read

Barcelona hasn’t done well defending their La Liga title this season. Even though they’re only eight points away from the top, their game performances have been disappointing, often relying on narrow one-goal wins.

The recent 4-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana final and a close call in the Copa del Rey against third-tier Unionistas have put a lot of pressure on manager Xavi. Barcelona’s lackluster displays are in the spotlight, and there’s a clear need for improvement.

Jules Kounde, however, says it’s the players’ collective responsibility to deal with the team’s problems. Looking back at the Unionistas game, Kounde said, “In the end, like the rest of the team, you can’t blame everything on one match.

We need to look ahead, learn from our mistakes, and move on. Even though it was disappointing, we’ve turned the page, and every upcoming game is important.”

While recognizing the coach’s role, Kounde stressed that the players are ultimately responsible for the team’s performance.

“Of course, in the end, you can talk about the coach, but we are the ones who play. When results aren’t good, it’s our fault. We needed to react, bring intensity, and move forward. This year calls for a change, and we need to be more effective,” he said.

Barcelona’s determination to turn things around is fueled by the players’ eagerness, with Kounde emphasizing the importance of each upcoming game. President Joan Laporta’s encouragement adds to the determination to meet the club’s standards and expectations.

As they face challenges, the focus remains on learning from setbacks and approaching future matches with renewed intensity and effectiveness.
