1 min read

Arnau Tenas, the now-former FC Barcelona goalkeeper, has officially joined Paris Saint-Germain, as announced by the Ligue 1 giants on Sunday. Having been with Barca since he was nine years old, he progressed through their esteemed La Masia academy and eventually made his way to Xavi Hernandez’s senior team.

This summer, however, Tenas’ contract with Barcelona expired, leading him to explore new opportunities as a free agent. Seizing the opportunity, PSG used their social media account to proudly announce the signing of the talented shot-stopper, who has now committed to a contract with the Qatari-owned club until 2026.

Born in Vic, a province of Barcelona, Spain, in May 2001, Arnau Tenas joined FC Barcelona in 2010 to begin his training journey there. Throughout the years, the promising goalkeeper rose through the ranks, solidifying his position in the Barca reserve team and even captaining them during the last season. By the 2020-2021 season, he earned regular call-ups to the first team, showcasing his skills and potential at the highest level.

Arnau Tenas’ achievements have not gone unnoticed by PSG, as they highlighted his success as the starting goalkeeper during Spain’s victory at the U19 Euros in 2019 and his outstanding performance at the U21 Euros this summer. Although Spain reached the final, they unfortunately lost to England on penalties.

With his promising talent and dedication to the sport, Tenas is set to embark on a new chapter in his career at Paris Saint-Germain, ready to leave his mark on the football world.
