Following the departures of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, ter Stegen rose to the position of second-in-command for the captaincy at Barcelona, just behind Sergi Roberto. Despite being 31 years old, this deal could signify ter Stegen’s final significant contract in his career. However, it’s highly unlikely that he would consider transferring under any circumstances.
